The Children Exchanged At Birth.

Hello Beautiful Human,

This is a story about two children exchanged at birth. None of the children had any deficiencies of any sort; this was just an honest mistake from the birthing center.

Three decades later, both families came to find out and meet their actual children, and of course, it became weird.

This child is nothing like me, nothing like someone from my family;

  • They don’t have the beliefs we have in my family
  • They don’t believe in the things we believe in our family, e.g. our context of God whether it is Islam, Christianity, or Judaism, what we hold as value e.g. respect, education, etc.
  • They don’t do things the way I do things or the way my other children do things
  • They don’t have the behaviors, patterns, and external nuances we do in our family.

They are nothing like me, they are nothing like us and acceptance was difficult in the beginning.

The children separated began to have doubts and confusion about what they’ve known their whole lives because this is what they were taught, it is the way they were wired, programmed, patterned, and conditioned as the truth, a truth that is now shaky, a truth being questioned.

Two children grew in a womb, connected to a spirit from Source/ God/ universe, born on earth as humans with bodies and intellect like everyone else.

Just like every one of us was born into different homes, families, tribes, religions, and communities and learned the ways, deeds, patterns, beliefs, and conditioning of the families we were born into, not one of us brought our own beliefs and said at birth, “This is my religion, this is my way of life.” We were given what we worked for others; we morphed into what we were taught.

These beliefs & patterns might have served you to a point, to the point where intellect and surface living reach, where meaning and community acceptance reach;

 Things like going to school, graduating, getting a job, getting married, having kids, and following the conventional path set by family and community expectations. We were never truly taught to pause and reflect on what the depths of our being genuinely desire outside of what we’ve been conditioned to pursue. We weren’t taught to recognize when our soul/spirit is calling and yearning for true authenticity and genuineness—something that aligns deeply with the core of our being.

The religious and sexual orientations of one community often differ from another, which can either confuse us as individuals or become a stronghold that prevents us from being open-minded enough to learn others’ truths—and, most importantly, to discover the truths of our soul/spirit.

Whatever isn’t serving you is controlling you

Below are examples of different religions from across the planet. Despite their diversity, the common truth they preach is this: ‘Go within to find the truth for yourself, to discover what deeply aligns with your spirit and your soul and spirit

Hinduism: Atman (Soul): The soul, as a spark of the divine, is considered the inner guide and source of wisdom.

Christianity: There is a spirit within you that tells you what to do

Islam: Fitrah- Humans are born with an innate inclination toward truth and righteousness.

Buddhism: emphasizes introspection and mindfulness to uncover innate wisdom and enlightenment.

Your spirit carries an innate yearning for meaning, purpose, and a deeper connection to yourself because “the spirit always seeks fuller expression and expansion of self.” In those rare moments when you catch yourself fully present within your body—when you’re not distracted by external activities, often just before sleep—the yearning surfaces. The whispers emerge, and the desires wash over you, softly saying, “There is more. There is so much more.”

If the desires of your heart were not a possibility, you would not have them.

Take the disposition of the separated child and take time to uncover the mountain of beliefs, patterns, and conditions you’ve been taught and have embodied. Analyze them closely and reflect on what truly, deeply aligns with you—your heart, your spirit. Shed away what no longer serves you and begin to step into true meaning. Embrace the higher awareness and understanding that is authentically yours to live by, move by, and be guided by.

There is freedom, abundance, purpose, joy, peace, clarity, and acceptance that come with the fulfillment of aligning with your heart and spirit—becoming who you’re truly meant to be.

This is my most genuine prayer for you.

So, when you write down what you deeply want, as discussed in last week’s conversation, let it reflect what your spirit truly and authentically desires—not what you’ve been taught to want.

Dear Beautiful Human,

TRUST!

Trust in your Soul and Spirit enough,

Trust in your Source enough,

Trust in your God enough

To show you the path of truth for who you are in the different areas of your life.

It’s been the best decision of my life.

To your growth,

Temitope Saliu.
